META-ESCROW TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: 2021
Last Updated: 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Meta-Escrow website, accounts, escrow transaction tools, payment functionality, support services, and related features.

By creating an account, initiating or participating in a transaction, funding an escrow, or otherwise using Meta-Escrow, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not access or use Meta-Escrow.

1. Purpose of Meta-Escrow

Meta-Escrow provides technology designed to help parties structure and manage transactions through an escrow-based workflow.

Depending on the services available to you, the platform may allow users to create transactions, establish transaction conditions, fund transactions, submit evidence of performance or delivery, approve releases, request withdrawals, communicate regarding transactions, and access applicable dispute-resolution procedures.

The availability of individual services may depend on your location, account status, transaction type, payment method, verification status, and applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

2. Eligibility

You may use Meta-Escrow only if you are legally capable of entering into binding agreements and are permitted to use the services under applicable law.

By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that your use of Meta-Escrow will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

Meta-Escrow may restrict access to certain services based on jurisdiction, age, identity-verification requirements, compliance obligations, payment restrictions, or legitimate operational considerations.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Meta-Escrow account and login credentials.

Registration and account information must be accurate, complete, and reasonably current.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except where applicable law provides otherwise.

If you believe your account, password, payment information, or transaction credentials have been compromised, contact Meta-Escrow promptly at support@meta-escrow.co.

Meta-Escrow may require additional authentication or verification before permitting sensitive account actions.

4. Identity and Transaction Verification

To protect users and maintain the integrity of the platform, Meta-Escrow may request information or documentation necessary to verify an account, transaction, payment, source or destination of funds, or other relevant information.

Certain transactions may be delayed or restricted while verification is being completed.

Failure to provide reasonably requested information may result in limitations being placed on an account or transaction where necessary for security, compliance, fraud prevention, risk management, or legal purposes.

5. Creating an Escrow Transaction

Users are responsible for ensuring that transaction terms accurately represent their agreement before funds are committed.

Transaction terms may include the transaction amount, description of the goods or services involved, delivery requirements, completion requirements, milestones, inspection periods, approval procedures, release conditions, and other mutually accepted conditions.

Users should carefully review all transaction information before confirming an escrow.

Meta-Escrow is not responsible for private arrangements or promises between users that are not included in the applicable transaction record.

6. Funding Transactions

A transaction may require the buyer or funding party to deposit the agreed amount using an available payment method.

A transaction should not be considered funded until the applicable payment has been successfully received or verified.

Users must follow the payment instructions presented through the authorized Meta-Escrow transaction process.

Payments made outside the authorized Meta-Escrow workflow may not receive the protections associated with the platform's escrow process.

7. Holding and Release of Funds

Funds associated with an escrow transaction are handled according to the applicable transaction conditions, these Terms, and any additional payment or escrow terms presented to the parties.

Funds may be released when the required transaction conditions have been satisfied and the appropriate authorization, confirmation, or applicable resolution has been received.

Where supported, transactions involving multiple stages may allow funds to be released according to individual milestones.

A completed release may be irreversible or subject to significant limitations depending on the payment method and circumstances.

Users should therefore carefully verify transaction details before authorizing the release of funds.

8. Fees and Charges

Meta-Escrow may charge fees for transactions, payment processing, withdrawals, currency conversion, additional services, or other platform functionality.

Applicable Meta-Escrow charges will be presented where required before the relevant transaction or service is confirmed.

Banks, card issuers, payment processors, blockchain networks, financial institutions, or other third parties may impose additional fees outside Meta-Escrow's control.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

A transaction may be cancelled where cancellation is permitted by its current status, applicable transaction conditions, these Terms, or applicable law.

Funds that have not been released may be eligible for return where the requirements for cancellation or refund have been satisfied.

Once funds have been validly released to another party, Meta-Escrow may be unable to reverse the transaction.

Payment-processing charges, network fees, currency-conversion costs, banking charges, or other third-party expenses may not always be refundable.

Nothing in these Terms eliminates consumer or refund rights that cannot legally be waived.

10. Disputes

Where parties disagree about whether transaction obligations have been satisfied, an eligible transaction may enter the applicable dispute-resolution process.

During a dispute, users may be asked to provide relevant documentation or information, including transaction agreements, invoices, receipts, shipping records, delivery confirmation, photographs, correspondence, or evidence of completed work.

Users must provide truthful and authentic information.

Where Meta-Escrow provides a dispute-resolution mechanism, decisions will be made according to the applicable transaction conditions, available evidence, platform policies, and governing legal requirements.

11. Chargebacks and Payment Reversals

Users must not initiate fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive chargebacks.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a user from exercising legitimate rights available through a bank, card issuer, payment provider, or applicable law.

If a payment associated with a transaction is reversed, recalled, disputed, or charged back, Meta-Escrow may temporarily restrict the affected transaction or account while the matter is investigated.

Fraudulent payment activity may result in account restrictions or termination and may be reported to relevant financial institutions or authorities where legally appropriate.

12. Prohibited Transactions and Activities

Meta-Escrow must not be used to facilitate unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or unauthorized activities.

Prohibited activities include transactions involving stolen funds or payment credentials, fraud, phishing, impersonation, money laundering, prohibited financing, malicious software, unauthorized access to computer systems, illegal goods or services, or transactions prohibited under applicable sanctions or financial regulations.

Users must not use Meta-Escrow to distribute malware, conduct unauthorized spam campaigns, operate malicious bots, exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with platform infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account, transaction, device, or system.

Meta-Escrow may maintain additional restrictions for specific products, industries, jurisdictions, payment methods, or transaction categories.

13. Fraud Prevention and Platform Security

Meta-Escrow may use automated systems, manual reviews, transaction monitoring, identity verification, device information, payment information, and other security measures to identify potentially fraudulent, suspicious, or unauthorized activity.

Where a reasonable security or compliance concern exists, Meta-Escrow may delay a transaction, request additional verification, restrict particular account functions, or take other proportionate protective measures.

These controls are intended to protect users, payment infrastructure, transactions, and the integrity of the Meta-Escrow platform.

14. Account Restrictions and Suspension

Meta-Escrow may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where reasonably necessary because of material or repeated violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, unauthorized transactions, attempts to compromise platform security, false or misleading information, prohibited transactions, legal or regulatory obligations, abusive use of the services, or significant risks to other users or the platform.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, users may be provided with information concerning the restriction and any available steps for resolution.

Account suspension or termination does not automatically eliminate obligations arising from transactions completed or initiated before the restriction.

15. User Conduct

Users must communicate and transact in good faith.

Harassment, threats, manipulation, fraudulent documentation, deliberate misrepresentation, attempts to circumvent platform safeguards, or abuse of Meta-Escrow's support or dispute systems may result in restrictions or termination.

Users must not falsely represent themselves as Meta-Escrow employees, agents, partners, affiliates, or representatives.

16. Intellectual Property

The Meta-Escrow name, branding, software, interface, website content, graphics, documentation, and proprietary platform components may be protected by intellectual-property laws.

Except where expressly permitted, users may not reproduce, modify, distribute, resell, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, or create unauthorized derivative works from protected Meta-Escrow materials.

Using Meta-Escrow does not transfer ownership of Meta-Escrow intellectual property to the user.

17. Third-Party Services

Meta-Escrow may rely on third-party providers for services such as payment processing, banking infrastructure, identity verification, communications, hosting, analytics, security, and other operational functions.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms, conditions, and privacy policies.

Meta-Escrow cannot guarantee the uninterrupted availability of systems or infrastructure operated independently by third parties.

18. Platform Availability

Meta-Escrow works to maintain reliable access to its services, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.

Services may occasionally become unavailable because of scheduled maintenance, security incidents, payment-network interruptions, telecommunications failures, infrastructure problems, software updates, regulatory requirements, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Where practical, Meta-Escrow will work to restore affected services as quickly as reasonably possible.

19. Customer Support

Users requiring assistance may contact Meta-Escrow through the support channels provided on the platform or by email at:

support@meta-escrow.co

Response times may vary depending on the complexity of the request, transaction status, security requirements, investigation requirements, and current support demand.

Transaction disputes, payment investigations, account-security incidents, and verification matters may require additional review before a final response can be provided.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meta-Escrow will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses arising solely from circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Meta-Escrow does not guarantee the quality, legality, authenticity, condition, performance, delivery, or suitability of goods and services independently exchanged between users.

21. User Responsibility

Each user is responsible for reviewing the counterparty, transaction description, conditions, supporting documentation, and other relevant information before entering into or approving a transaction.

Escrow can reduce certain transaction and payment risks, but it does not eliminate every commercial, contractual, delivery, fraud, or counterparty risk.

Users should exercise appropriate judgment before funding transactions, accepting goods or services, approving milestones, or authorizing the release of funds.

22. Privacy and Data

Personal information collected through Meta-Escrow is handled according to the Meta-Escrow Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

Information may be processed where reasonably necessary to provide services, facilitate transactions, maintain platform security, investigate disputes, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, or enforce these Terms.

23. Changes to These Terms

Meta-Escrow may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes in its services, technology, payment infrastructure, security practices, operational requirements, or applicable laws and regulations.

Updated Terms will be published through the Meta-Escrow platform.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate notice will be provided when material changes are introduced.

24. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any disputes arising from the use of Meta-Escrow will be governed by the laws applicable to the legal entity operating the service and any mandatory laws applicable to the user.

Any formal dispute, arbitration, mediation, jurisdiction, or venue requirements will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any additional agreement governing the relevant Meta-Escrow service.

25. Contact Meta-Escrow

Questions concerning these Terms, your account, payments, security, or an active Meta-Escrow transaction may be submitted through the official support channels.
